PM Lamothe met with Canapé-Vert residents after his walkabout. He related to them what the government's plans are to improve their living standards: 500 dwellings, damaged by the 2010 earthquake, will be repaired, and an outdoor plaza will be built with arena-sized TV screens installed. And a sanitation system to decontaminate water coming from polluted sources is being planned to stop cholera from attacking the population.
The PM told the gathering of townspeople the government of Haiti (GOH) is committed to improving the social infrastructure of the town. This will include such items as a social club, and development of a special-education school program. The disadvantaged children the program is designed to help will be part of the Universal Schooling Program Free and Mandatory.
The PM repeatedly emphasized the GOH's commitment, not only to the Canapé-Vert community, but to other communities as well. The PM gave a call-to-action to the residents, in which he said the GOH cannot "solve all the problems; we need the support of all Haitians." Especially on Election Day.
