Anti-Corruption Mechanism to Visit Haiti

The committee will further probe into the follow-up on the recommendations formulated to the States Parties in the Second Round, including topics such as matters of public procurement, hiring or appointment of the public servants, protection of the whistleblowers, treatment methods for criminalizing acts of corruption as per the convention.
This affirmative acceptance of Haiti has put itself in the league of other OAS associated countries who had earlier communicated their consent to receive on-site visits as part of the Fifth round of MESICIC. Such countries include: Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, México, Panamá, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States and Uruguay.
OAS, is an intercontinental organization with headquarters in Washington, D.C., was founded on 30 April 1948, for the purposes of regional solidarity and cooperation among its member states. Presently, its members are the 35 independent states of the Americas.
