Evans Paul using bluff as tool against Dominican Government

Faced with massive influx of Haitians and Dominicans of Haitian descent being deported from the Dominican Republic to Haiti, Haitian Prime Minister Evans Paul put the Dominican Government on guard against the type of people that they are sending to Haiti. He stated that the Haitian government will welcome the Haitians but will not admit any non Haitians into the country. Specifically, anyone not born in Haiti will not be admitted into the country, that is according to Mr. Evans Paul.

I consider such a statement by the Haiti Prime Minister as pure bluff. It is an attempt by Mr. Paul deceive us pretending to in case that the Dominican Government makes any attempt to send someone who was born in the Dominican Republic with Haitian root back to Haiti, they will be faced with corresponding action from the Haitian government.

Michel Martelly, Felix Bautista and Election Campaign Financing

It is rather ironical that Haiti's president received the coveted Order of Merit of Duarte, Sanchez and Mella from his Dominican counterpart, President Leonel Fernández for exemplary service, while in real sense his involvement in very shoddy and fishy deals was to take the centre stage three days after the proclamation. It now emerges that Martelly's election campaign was partly funded by Felix Bautista, who owns several companies which were awarded reconstruction contracts in a slapdash manner. Martelly is said to have received more than $2.5 million from Bautista, way before he was elected president extending through to his reign as a president.

Allegation of Kickbacks between President Martelly Dominican Senator Felix Bautista, Nuria Piera

According to Dominican Investigative Journalist Nuria Piera, President Michel Martelly received at least $$2.5 million in the form of Kickbacks by a Dominican construction firm owned by Dominican Senator Felix Bautista.

The winning Companies:
According to the report, one the companies owned by Bautista, HADOM Construction was awarded a $2.5 million contract to do reconstruction work in Haiti. HADOM received 75,466,638.08 HTG ($1.8 Million U.S.) on November 8, 2010 and another 5,000,000 HTG ($120,000 U.S.) on May 11, 2011. The contracts were signed by former Prime Minister and current Presidential Adviser, Jean-Max Bellerive

According to the Investigative Journalist Nuria Piera, companies owned by Senator Batista transferred $2,587,100.00 to Haitian President Michel Martelly and $250,000.00 to presidential candidate Mirlande Manigat.
