Monsignor Max Leroy Mesidor appointed Bishop of Fort Liberte

The head of Holy Roman Catholic Church Pope Benedict XVI appointed Monsignor Max Leroy Mesidor, as Bishop of Fort Liberte in the Diocese of Gonaives. Born in January 6, 1962, he has served various posts such as being vicar in charge as well as priest in a cathedral. He was brought up in the Diocese of Gonaives at Saint Marc Cathedral.

Max Leroy was educated in the same place where he completed his elementary schooling and joined the college of Immaculate Conception in Gonaives. The bishop later, after schooling went to the city and joined seminary to study Bachelor of Sacred Theology. He studied his first degree in Port-au-Prince when he enrolled into seminary. He completed seminary in 1987 and in the same year, he graduated with a degree in Sacred Theology.

In January 10, 1988, Monsignor Max Leroy Mesidor was ordained by the Diocese of Gonaives where he had served as a priest for some period of time. He once served as parochial vicar at Petite Riviere de l'Artibonite for one year in the period 1988-1989. In the year 1989, he was serving as an administrator of the parish where he worked for four years from 1989 to 1992. In the period 1992 to1993 he was the vicar in the diocese of Gonaives. He has also served as a priest in many parishes in Haiti.

Monsignor Max Leroy Mesidor wanted to advance his studies afterwards in theology. He was transferred to Belgium for a pastoral mission and in 1998 he decided to go deep in theology. He studied pastoral theology in Belgium at the University of Louvain. In his hard work of apostleship, he was recognized by the then pope, Pope John Paul II. He was credited with a license in administering as a vicar. This was way back in 2000 after graduating in Belgium.
