Maxime Fortunus, Decade in Ice Hockey

Maxime Fortunus, at five-feet eleven and two-hundred and two pounds, began his ice hockey career in early 1999, with the Midget AAA hockey team in the Charles Lemoyne Riverains League. Later in 1999, he began playing junior ice hockey as a second-round draftee choice, for the Baie-Comeau Drakkar team, under the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League banner (QMJHL). He became a professional player in 2003, playing for the Louisiana Ice Gators team.
In July 2008, the Dallas Stars of the NHL signed Maxime Fortunus on as a free agent; and for the 2009-2010 season, he has played as a regular for the Dallas Stars, as well as their sister team, the Texas Stars in the American Hockey League (AHL). During this season, he racked up six goals and five assists in the 34-game season for the Texas Stars.
Fortunus has played more than 300 regular-season games for the AHL with the Houston Aeros (25 games played); Manitoba Moose (271 games played); and Texas Stars (72 games played), achieving a career record of 26 goals and 60 assists in his seven-year AHL contract
