Government Commissioner Lucmane Delille does Home Visit to Jean-Bertrand Aristide

Former Haitian president Jean-Bertrand Aristide who was expected to be present today (Wednesday, January 9, 2013) to answer questions regarding complaints filed against him by former Fanmi Se Lavi residents and members of cooperatives for fraud and embezzlement did not happen quite like that.

Instead, the Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince was the one who went to the residence of the former president.

Jean-Bertrand Aristide was interviewed by Lucmane Delille was interviewed at the comfort of his own residence in Tabarre.

Several supporters of former President Aristide were present in front the office of Government Commissioner, Lucmane Delille, waiting to show support to their leader.

Former president Jean Bertrand Aristide to go to Court on January 3, 2013

Is this a sign of what the year 2013 is going to be for former Haitian president Jean Bertrand?

The former president of Haiti, Jean-Bertrand is scheduled to appear in front of the Prosecutor of the Civil Court of Port-au-Prince this January 3, 2013 to answer two separate complaints. The Fanmi lavalas leader is going to be buzy as he will deal with a group of former students of his social work "La Fanmi Se Lavi" as well as his alleged responsibility in bankruptcy for the fraudulent financial cooperatives in 2002 and 2003.

Complaints against Jean-Bertrand Aristide by former child of "La Fanmi Se Lavi"

After being away from the limelight for so long and finally returning to Haiti from seven years of exile just last year, former president and Catholic priest Jean-Bertrand Aristide is faced with another big controversy. Only this time, it does not involve his rather unfavorable presidency in the past.

Former street children who were rescued by La Fanmi Se Lavi, a foundation established by Aristide when he was still a priest and before he was elected as the president of Haiti in 1990, recently filed a complaint against Aristide under the "Association of Victims of exploitation of the Fanmi Se Lavi". According to the association's president, Junior Restauno, the former Haitian priest and president used the foundation and the children for his personal gain. They have only received a few trips abroad while in the care of the foundation but have not yet been able to receive any other kind of needed assistance from the aid, especially in the financial aspect, Aristide acquired from the foundation's benefactors. Aside from this, the association's complaint also mentioned the former religious leader's physical violence and corruption.
