Son of Haitian immigrants from Queens, featured in Republican Ad

The Republican National Committee is scheduled to start running a series of ads in an effort to attract non-white voters in 2016. Pierry, the son of Haitian immigrants from Queens, is in on of those ads. The Republican party realized how poorly they did in 2012 when they only got 6 percent of the African-American vote and 27 percent of the Hispanic vote. they are hoping that with these ads, more minority groups will be voting for them. However, recent comments made by GOP candidate Donald Trump about immigrants, Mexicans, women, Muslims and other groups have not been helpful to the party.

Will Mia Love make history by becoming First Haitian-American in US Congress?

November 4th, 2014 is very important for the Haitian Diaspora in the United States. Mia Love who is one of ours is running for House seat from Utah. If she wins, she will make history in several aspects. She will become the First Haitian-American in US Congress? In addition, she will become the first black Republican woman in history.

Will Mia is running as a Republican she currently has in front of her Democrat candidate Doug Owens who has been running behind until recently. According to the latest survey that was released on the week of the election the Democratic candidate was leading by three percentage point. Doug Owens was leading by 45.8 to 42.2 percent point over Mia Love.

U.S. Representative and chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Ileana Ros-Lehtinen visits Haiti
U.S. Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen is in visiting Haiti one year after the devastating earthquake to observe rebuilding efforts.

This visit to Haiti constitutes her first trip outside of the U.S. since becoming the new chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. U.S. Representative and current chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Ileana Ros-Lehtinen stated: "American businesses that have tried to invest in Haiti, not take over Haiti, but give them a helping hand. They have been confronted with wrath, corruption, bribery,"

U.S. Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen is a Republican Congress woman from South Florida.
