Volunteer Vacations Chance to Experience and Serve Cultures

A new kind of vacation format is becoming popular the world over, volunteer vacations. These vacations are spent on service projects in all parts of the globe, and on a wide spectrum of service activities. No matter your age or marital status, a volunteer opportunity exists just right for your interests and abilities.

Some examples of volunteer vacations include helping park rangers on national parks projects; volunteering at an orphanage, or for children with special needs; teaching English as a second language; a museum conservation project; administering to injured animals at a zoo.

Experience is not as important as enthusiasm, a cooperative spirit, and a sense of adventure. And the most satisfying experiences will come from projects aligning with your interests, skills, and endurance level. You can opt to choose a project in a metropolitan area, or a more rural setting in an emerging nation.

New cruiseline "Quantum of the Seas" to go to Labadee

Royal Caribbean's brand new cruise line, Quantum of the Seas, is proving to be the true measure of all sea-faring vacation liners. Like the Titanic, a hundred and one years before it, this new cruise ship boasts the sort of amenities and capabilities only conjured up before in fevered, hallucinatory dreams. Not set to make its maiden voyage until 2014, Quantum will, no doubt, end the similarities with the doomed ocean-liner at the point of ambitious scope.

Set to be outfitted with all the regulars expected and depended upon in a Royal Caribbean (RC) cruise-liner, Quantum will also boast skydiving, simulated by the use of air pressure, bumper cars and a 300 feet bird's eye lookout called The North Star. RipCord (skydiving) will utilize strong winds to essentially float the brave up into the air. It's a feature that has been offered at various land-based parks, but this will be a first for the 'high' seas. The North Star, described by the execs of RC as an 'observation capsule' is said to be a sea-bound replica of the London Eye. It can hold at any one time 14 of the over 4,100 passengers on board and gives them an unprecedented view of the sites around them.

Transat, first Canadian company to offer vacation packages to Haiti

Haiti has slowly been getting back to its feet after the 2010 earthquake and one way of doing that is by bringing Transar to the country.

We have been trying out innovative ways in order to bring revenue to the country through its different industries. One of the recent industries the government has been focusing on and trying to promote in the international community is that of tourism, utilizing the natural beauty and splendor of the island country.

Haiti has great potential in becoming the leading tourist destination in the tropical Caribbean, thanks to the recent partnership between the Haitian tourism sector and an international tour company for this winter season. Transat A.T., Inc., a Canadian-based tour operator, has recently offered vacation packages to Haiti starting on the 23rd of January, 2013. Montreal will be the tour's origin where 30 seats per flight provided by Air Transat and Air Canada shall be designated for the tour package.

Petit-Trou-de-Nippes Natural Beauty a Drawing Card for Tourists

A slice of paradise inhabits the northwestern section of Haiti's peninsula, the town of Petit-Trou-de-Nippes. Situated within the Anse-à-Veau Arrondissement, it is a commune of the Nippes Department. The other communes are Arnaud, Plaisance-du-Sud, Anse-à-Veau, and L'Asile.

Resting on the coast of the azure Caribbean Sea, its waters are home to frolicking dolphins, a pleasing and thrilling sight to visiting tourists, as well as stunning sunrises and sunsets. The town of
Petit-Trou-de-Nippes is a perfect vacation spot for those who like walking in natural environments, enjoying quietude and serenity.

But to arrive at the magnificent splendor of Petit-Trou-de-Nippes from Port-au-Prince, a journey of up to five hours is necessary. Dirt roads--the bane of many small towns in Haiti--plus bodies of water are strewn along the way, challenging travelers. Yet the indescribable beauty that awaits at the end compensates. Sand as white and fine as sugar, and crystalline waters refresh one's senses.
