Wyclef abandoned Martelly's team to support Jude Celestin

The Haitian superstar Wyclef Jean has made a major shift in his political choice. A a major supporter of Michel Martelly and the Tet kale party 5 years ago, he has decided to throw his support thsi time behind Jude Celestin of LAPEH. Does that mean Wyclef Jean was not happy with Michel Martelly?

Wyclef Jean to Put Haiti in the Spotlight at Floyd-Berto Fight

Haitian boxer Andre Berto is set to fight Floyd Mayweather, who during his boxing career, has never lost a fight. Berto has lost one fight out of 30; and six fights prior to the present have been three for six. Mayweather selected Berto for his last title fight instead of contenders like Amir Khan, Keith Thurman, and Shawn Porter. Berto currently holds the World boxing Association's welterweight title.

What would lead Mayweather to pick the weakest fighter for his retirement fight? It would seem he wants to go out on top, retaining his perfect no-loss record. Is he retiring because he fears he is on the verge of losing his boxing edge? Is age also a consideration? What's certain is Mayweather's $200 million CBS / Showtime contract is ending.

Wyclef Jean to Perform "We Will Find a Way" at 2014 FIFA World Cup

Haitian-American Hip-Hop artist, Wyclef Jean, has been chosen by Sony Music to perform the official anthem at the closing ceremonies of the Brazil FIFA World Cup of 2014. He came to prominence as part of the Fugees during the 1980s, with their second release, The Score, which sold 6,000,000 copies.

Jean spent his early years in Haiti, but his family moved to New Jersey while he was still in grade school. He attended college fitfully, before he finally completed his education at Berklee College of Music.

By the late 1990s, he broke with the Fugees to start his solo career. He made music history playing alongside Shakira in her video, Hips Don't Lie, which was the biggest monster hit of the new millennium. He also composed the sound track for the documentary, The Agronomist.

Wyclef Jean to perform at FIFA World Cup Closing Ceremony

A major accomplishment for the Haitian artist. FIFA has selected Wyclef Jean to be in the line up of entertainers who will be performing at the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil. He will be accompanied by Carlos Santana, Avicii and Alexandre Pires.

"We will find a Way" the song to be interpreted by Wyclef Jean.

Wyclef Jean is scheduled to interpret the song titled:"Dar in Rio or We Will find the way. His performance will take place during the closing ceremony in Rio de Janeiro in front of millions of spectators who will be watching at the stadium, in Television and on their internet.

Wyclef Jean unable to pay debt, there ain't no money

According to Wyclef Jean's accountant in an email to his creditors: "there ain't no money". His business manager declared that the singer was broke.

Wyclef Jean agreed in 2013 to pay the law firm Shukat Arrow Hafer Weber & Herbsman $100,000 to settle an outstanding bill that had reached $133,000. The disbursement were to be as follows Wyclef Jean was to pay the firm $10,000 by August 1, 2013, and $50,000 by year's end. However, record showed that he did not make any payment.

In addition, The Haitian Rap Singer is still dealing with a tax lien of around $2.9 million that he has not paid

New York Attorney General Uncovers Fraud in Wyclef Jean's Yele Foundation

Internationally-recognized Haitian-American and Hip-Hop musician, Wyclef Jean, established his Yele foundation, in 2005. After the 2010 earthquake struck Haiti, Yele contracted with HVS Global Hospitality Services to offer a six-month hospitality training course. Yele's payout in monthly installments was to total $285,000. To date HVS has been paid only 61% of the total, causing HVS to file suit in New York City's Supreme Court.

Wyclef Jean's celebrity allowed his foundation to collect nearly $2 million from international donors within a short time-period post-quake. But after some Haitian businesses filed their own lawsuits against Yele for defaulting on debt payments to them, an auditing firm examined the foundation's books and uncovered an embezzlement scheme. Yele had been funneling money to Jean, his business contacts, and family members from $16 million in foundation funds accrued over several years. It was also discovered by the Attorney General of New York Yele had not paid income taxes for a number of years. In response Yele liquidated its assets and hid them.

Wyclef Jean removed from Election contest by CEP

As the new presidential election drew near, it can be recalled that the government and the CEP slammed singer Wyclef Jean's bid to run in the election. They said it was against the constitution to allow the rapper, who has been living in the United States for many years, to file a candidacy.

This angered Jean, who even wrote a song against the CEP. In the song, he said that it was not him that the CEP rejected but it was the people, the youth, the peasants, and the entire country. Jean vowed not to give up and to continue fighting "bad" officials. This incident was such a controversy back then because of Jean's popularity and the election's importance.

Minister Louis Farrakhan, Wyclef Jean on Haiti Radio Matin Caraibes

Here is the latest. We have Minister Farrakhan on Radio Caraibes in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. On Wednesday December 14, 2011 the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and Wyclef Jean appeared on a live Radio/TV simulcast on Haiti's very popular morning shows.

With the team "Matin Caraibes, He mentioned that Haiti will be free again one day.

This was an opportunity for me to meet the team that animates Matin Caraibes from Monday to Friday, every week.

Also present at the radio show was the Haitian Superstar Wyclef jean. He was happy to have Minister Farrakhan to come to Haiti. He also believe that the Minister is the most powerful man in the world. The Message for today is: "L'Union Fait La Force"

Live video interview with Wyclef Jean about the shooting on the eve of Haiti election - Video

We finally have the video of Wyclef Jean explaining the situation here he was shot in the hand. The singer is accompanied by his cousin Pras.

According to Wyclef Jean: "We heard what is called in Creole: Catouch", the sound of the booms." Jean further explained that he then, jumped in the car with Fanfan and went to the nearest hospital. Wyclef said he thought he really got "Grazed".
