Wyclef Jean removed from Election contest by CEP

As the new presidential election drew near, it can be recalled that the government and the CEP slammed singer Wyclef Jean's bid to run in the election. They said it was against the constitution to allow the rapper, who has been living in the United States for many years, to file a candidacy.

This angered Jean, who even wrote a song against the CEP. In the song, he said that it was not him that the CEP rejected but it was the people, the youth, the peasants, and the entire country. Jean vowed not to give up and to continue fighting "bad" officials. This incident was such a controversy back then because of Jean's popularity and the election's importance.
