The Government of Haiti condemns attacks against civilians by Islamic State in Iraq and Syria - ISIS

The Government of Haiti has expressed its serious concern over the activities of a Sunni jihadist extremist group who has claimed its religious authority and aims to bring the Muslims all over the world under own control. The group has proclaimed a self-designated Islamic State State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) or Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). 'Levant' is a region that includes Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Israel, Cyprus, Lebanon and part of southern Turkey. The Haitian government has condemned the attack and atrocities of the group to the innocent civilians, particularly to the Christian communities and has demonstrated own solidarity with the sufferers and readiness to cooperate to improve their security concerns at regional and international levels.

ISIS, a hardline jihadist group, governed by Sharia law, ignores international borders and presently controls hundreds of square mile area lying on Syria's Mediterranean coast to south of Baghdad. ISIS has a practice to kill dozens of people at a time, crucify and carrying out different means of public executions. They have an established objective to create an Islamic state led by a supreme religious and political leader known as a 'Caliph', i.e. "successor to Muhammad".

In a recent audio release, the ISIS spokesman Abu Muhammad al-Adnani has encouraged his followers to kill disbelievers in Islam and also the citizens of the countries that have taken part into the U.S led coalition to oppose their violent spread in the area. The Haitian government has expressed own respect and supports to every initiative to curb this increasing destructive activity in the region.
