Haiti and Dominican Republic Historic Conflict

I just want a confirmation on that. I head that when Haiti occupied the Dominican Republic, there was a campaign by the Haitian army to exile most white people who were living in the Dominican Republic.

Was this the source of the Antihaitianismo feeling?

I also heard that Dominicans always feel threaten by Haitians as Haitians often being accused of trying to establish control over the entire island
