Western Union and Sogexpress in Renewable Energy

Under the plan a dedicated website will collect order and receive payment for any renewable energy product items of 'Klere Ayeti' from a donor or any Haitian diaspora living anywhere in the world. Then the company will process the payment for the solar light to an agent in Miami and provide the contact information of the recipient family to that agent so that it can enable the delivery to the beneficiary in Haiti.
This is a joint attempt by the Western Union and Sogexpress, a commitment to provide an ecological and viable solution to address Haiti's "energy poverty" challenge. The companies are key partners of the 'Klere Ayiti' or "Light-up Haiti" - an initiative supported by the Multilateral Investment Fund, a member of the Inter-American Development Bank Group, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Arc Finance. The initiative of The 'Klere Ayiti' started in early 2012 with main objective to provide affordable, clean and sustainable energy to the Haitian people, most of whom live below the poverty line. The 'Klere Ayiti' also makes smaller solar products and sells them from their stores in Haiti. The project is a big success. As of April 2015, it has sold more than 43,000 solar lights, benefitting more than 215,000 people in Haiti.
