Witnessed by 60 of the town's citizens, the launch also included representatives from international, local and regional organization, all with the aim of formulating a development plan for Desdunes. The expected delivery date for the planned activities is the 31st of December 2015. Throughout the project, details on the affected territories will be disseminated to all donors and investors, providing an overview of the scope of the project in a bid to avoid overlaps caused by outside acts.

The GAFE, the main contractor for the plan, will be responsible for carrying out the three main points of the project. The Committee Communal Management (GSC) must be created and the local Coordinating Committees (LCC) in the six communal sections of Desdunes. These bodies will monitor the changing process of the territory and, from three localities, 18 investigators, trained to pursue participatory diagnosis, will be implemented.

Also in the works, through the efforts of the city's mayor, is a communication system for the distribution of a local weekly radio program. There will also be the fixing of thousands of meters of canal from the 'farm three terminals' to be carried out.

Desdunes, known in Creole as Dedin, can be found in the lower Artibonite Department of the country, in the Artibonite Valley.
