Haitian among the Protesters Caught With Machete

On November 20th, in protest against the published presidential election result, agitated protesters came out on the street of Port-au-Prince. Protest against the ruling party has almost become a daily occurrence because all the opposition parties are of opinion that the October 25 election and the published results are nothing but an "electoral coup d'état," orchestrated by President Martelly and his men to make their candidate Jovenel Moise a winner.

Firstly, the protesters were resisted by some Martelly supporters on the street and they started hurling rocks and other objects between themselves in the streets of Port-Au-Prince. After some time, a gang of about 20 hooded men in a white pickup (license plate number 1-00692) armed with machetes, hammers, pipes and guns attacked the marchers. A young man was shot dead and one marcher was wounded in the head by a machete. The police present on the spot turned a blind eye. As per the latest news, the Haitian police have arrested a demonstrator with machetes at the end of a march in Port-au-Prince.
