Haitian Writer Georges Anglade

Georges Anglade was known for strongly opposing the Duvalier regime and because of this was imprisoned in 1974 and when he was released, he fled the country. Though he later came back to Haiti, he had to flee once again in 1991 after the power was seized from Aristide government.
Georges Anglade, a politician, geographer and an author, died at the age of 65 on January 12, 2010 because of the devastating earthquake that had hit Haiti. Both Georges and his wife Mireille Neptune Anglade died on the same day. Both of them were at the home of Phillipe Rouzier, a renowned economist, when they were struck by the earthquake. The house collapsed killing both Georges and Mireille as well as Phillipe Rouzier. The actual house Georges and Mireille that was located at Port-au-Prince also collapsed during the earthquake.
