Former Haitian President Rene Preval is Dead

According to information just received by the staff of HaitiObserver.Com, former head of state, René Préval died today, on the day of Friday, March 3rd of a cardiac arrest. René Préval was the first president of the democratic era to succeed in completing a five-year term. He is known for the Haitian president who built the most rural roads in Haiti. He refused to go in exile following the 2010 elections, resisting the pressures of the international.
- René Garcia Préval, was born on 17 January 1943 in Port-au-Prince1.
- Prime Minister in 1991 under the presidency of Jean-Bertrand Aristide,
- President of the Republic from 7 February 1996 to 7 February 2001
- President from 14 May 2006 to 14 May 2011.
