Jerrod Laventure, soccer player with Haitian roots

Jerrod Laventure currently plays professional American soccer for Jersey Express. The American footballer has Haitian roots. He began his football career while still in college and has developed to a professional footballer currently playing in the USL Premier Development League.

Jerrod Laventure was born in January 15, 1983. His birth place is the Middle Island in New York. He played college soccer at Seton Hall University. His college soccer success earned him a place in the Big East first team in 2005 after registering 8 goals and 6 assists. He joined MLS Player Combine and played for the Metro Stars reserve team.

His professional career began when he signed New York Red Bulls' developmental contract on the 12th day of April 2006. On July 8 2006, Laventure played his first MLS game against FC Dallas as a substitute. He made a remarkable performance on July 19, 2006; Laventure scored an impressive goal from 30 yards against Columbus Crew. Goal keeper Noah palmer was unable to stop the ball earning Jerrod Goal of the Week Award.

After playing as a substitute, eventually, Jerrod Laventure made his way to be in the starting team. He started the first match for the Red Bulls in the U.S. Open Cup. The match was against the Wilmington Hammerheads of the USL Second Division.

The Red Bulls held Jerrod up to March 17, 2008 when they released him to join Newark Ironbound Express in the USL Premier Development League.

Haiti has made several attempts to have Jerrod Laventure play for the Haitian national team. He turned down a call in 2007 but accepted to start two games against El Salvador in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 2008.
