Bus accident around Les Cayes, 9 dead and 24 injured

Major traffic accident on Saturday. A Bus in direction to Jeremy, overturned as the bus slammed into a roadblock made by protesters. According to Police, these protesters were upset because they were not hired for a job to which they had applied for.

9 people were pronounced dead on impact and 24 injured were transported to a Hospital in Les Cayes.

A spokesman for the Department Direction of Civil Protection reported that 5 of the injured individuals received life threatened injuries.

Three people were immediately arrested for this accident.

Haiti wakes-up on Fire, following the Haiti Election 2010

Following the results of the 2010, protesters showed their frustration by burning public and private institutions, setting tires on fire and installing barricades all over he country.

The Haitian Joudalist just learned that the city of Cayes was practically on fire last night. Some public buildings in the city were burned to the ground, including DGI, The seaport "Dwan o Kay", the Justice Palace and several schools. In addition, Radio Carlos Lebond was vandalized and "Boulevard 4 Chemin"is paralized.

Similar situations were also noted in the city of Cap-Haitian. There has been several acts of violence reported in Haiti following the results of the Haiti Election 2010. In several neighborhoods in Cap-Haitian, tires were burning in the streets.

Haitian Police Executed close to 19 Prisonners in Les Cayes

According to what the Haitian Joudalist learned, there has been a mass execution execution in a prison in Les Cayes Haiti and this was conducted by the people who was supposed to protect us. The United Nations peacekeeping mission in Haiti says it is investigating the shooting of dozens of prisoners during a jail riot shortly after the earthquake in January.

The New York Time reported that close to 19 Haitian prisoners were killed in execution style. The Haitian police officers stormed the jail in the town of Les Cayes. They opened fire on the unarmed Haitian prisoners, killing between 12 and 19 and injuring more than 40 others.
