Archives Nationales d'Haiti

To address this long-standing issue, the Haitian government officially established the National Archives of Haiti last May in order to improve the process and service of delivery and extraction of archived documents to Haitians living abroad. This proclamation was done in the presence of President Michel Martelly, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad Daniel Torment, the Minister of Culture Jean-Gardy Ady, and a few CEOs and owners of businesses in Haiti including Ministère des Haïtiens Vivant à l'Etranger or MHAVE's Joseph Augustin Leprince and its several employees.
The establishment of the Archives Nationales d'Haiti was nine months' worth of preparation and formulation. This introduced the very first public service of the Haitian government to deliver documents abroad in a systematic method. This is in partnership with Haiti's Post Office and National Press, where about 56 offices and several SongXpress Unitransfer offices are part of.
The Archives Nationales d'Haiti has three general purposes. The first one is to be able to provide direct service when it comes to the request and extraction of documents. Next is providing competitive services support to its customers. And last is the uniformity of the cost of the extraction of documents to avoid any anomalies in terms of transparency.
