Lamothe Visits Prince Charles for Talks on Developing Haiti

The two, Prince Charles and Prime Minister Lamothe talked on matters involving the reconstruction of a historic centre which was devastated by the 2010 earthquake. The quake which struck Port-au-Prince and the neighboring cities is said to have a magnitude of 7.0. It left the historic center into ruins and since then, it needs more funding in order to help in its reconstruction.
Apart from the reconstruction of the historic site, the meeting was meant to discuss other key issues affecting Haiti. One of his agenda included the reforestation process that has been taking place allover Haiti for some time. The reforestation process which is meant to take place in the whole country is scheduled to be complete by the end of September. About two million seedlings are expected to be planted by the end of the season. The other agenda of the meeting included talks for promoting trade and investment between the two countries. It is said that Haiti has more potential for investment with the United Kingdom.
Speaking at that time, Prince Charles said that his foundation was to reconstruct Port-au-Prince and he pledged to continue with his commitment in Haiti. After the visit, the prime minister said that his meeting with Prince Charles was fruitful. He invited the prince to visit Haiti one time.
