Gang of La Saline at Croix des Bossales Market

The Director of West Departmental Police, Vladimir Parison has said that this gang has been operating in the area since 2004. Although, a similar operation was carried out in 2014, the gang was able to reconstruct and refuel its network with more weapons and men. However, no firearms were seized during the operation conducted in the midday on Saturday, July 11. The Operation Commander and Commissioner from Port-au-Prince, Alex Jean Pierre-Louis has said that the preparation for the operation has taken over a year because it was a gang with a very complex operating mode. However, he is satisfied with the arrests of three gang leaders and several people suspected of criminal activities. The Commissioner of Police, Serge Therriault, of the Minustah (UNPOL) has said that this operation proves that the PNH has the ability to meet difficult challenges. Some of the voters from the area have raised their voice that some politicians willfully, purposely sow these seeds of unrest in the society; it is one of their means for winning elections.
