Start a Business in Haiti, Regulatory Environment

One of the changes involves the publication of Articles of Incorporation (AOI). Currently, such publication can be done two months earlier than usual because the office of the prime minister or the president no longer has to vet the AOI. A new law, on the other hand, has been implemented to improve the application for credit in the country. The new law enables businesses to use a wider variety of assets for collateral.

When it comes to international trading and shipping, the process has been adjusted for better efficiency. Now that the country's port is open and operating 24 hours a day, the processing of exports is faster and more efficient. It is also now easier and faster to register property and sales contracts because the government made some changes in property registration regulations.

Other changes are made as well with regards to the registration of a business name, notarization and intellectual property. It is important for businesses to be aware of these rules and regulations so as to ensure that their operations are in line with the law. Otherwise, they might create a conflict with the authorities and it could ruin their business.
