Jason Derulo Philanthropist with Haiti

Jason Derulo (born Miami on September 21, 1989) has been a successful songwriter since the tender age of 16. Jason's real Name Is Jason Joel Desrouleaux. Since the start of his solo recording career in 2009, Derulo has sold over 30 million singles and has achieved eleven Platinum singles, including "Wiggle", "Talk Dirty", "In My Head", and "Whatcha Say". He recorded most of his albums at own recording studio at home. Derulo's music is generally pop, but also incorporates R&B and hip-hop influences. He has named Michael Jackson as his main inspiration to sing.

Jason suffered a severe neck injury in early 2012. He now wants to repay to native country Haiti from where his parents came from. He recently (September 6, 2018) held his first-ever "Heart of Haiti Gala" at a private lake estate property in Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, California to raise money for Haiti. It was the inaugural event to launch Derulo's new "Just For You Foundation", a foundation focused on raising funds to promote education, providing shelter to orphans and families, feeding the homeless and promoting health in the United States and globally, according to their official web site.

Jason Derulo, A Multi-Talented Entertainer

Jason Joel Desrouleaux, birth date September 21,1989, goes by Jason Derulo, easier to say and remember. He is an American singer-composer, actor, dancer, of Haitian descent. Raised in Miami, Florida, the artist began performing at age five, penning his first song, "Crush on You", when he was only eight. He studied opera, theater, and ballet at a performing arts center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, finally graduating from New York's American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

Beginning at age 16, Jason Joel Desrouleaux has been composing material for Diddy, Danity Kane, and Lil Wayne, among other recording artists, and had dreamed of being a solo recording artist. His singing, dancing, and acting in Broadway productions prepared him to win the grand prize on Showtime at the Apollo's TV season finale. Music producer J.R. Rotem signed him to Rotem's label, Beluga Heights Records, and his work ethic has been characterized as "one of the most impressive work ethics . . . he just keeps knocking out songs in the studio" . . . . "an amazing quality."

Haitian-American Noramie Festa Jasmin made History as Mayor of Spring Valley

This is a sign that the Haitian community is moving and if I may say "Up" in the US. The latest is having one of our own elected as mayor in a major town. On behalf of the Haitian diaspora in the United States and all over the world, I would like to congratulate Noramie Festa Jasmin as the new Mayor of Spring Valley.

She has become the first Haitian American and the first woman to be elected as Mayor of Spring valley in 2009.

Before becoming Mayor of Spring Valley in New York, Noramie Jasmin occupied the position of trustee as well as deputy Mayor.
