The system of Checks and balances doesn't work in Haiti

In a system of checks and balances which Haiti supposedly has, each of the three branches of government can limit the powers of the others to make sure that the power is balanced between them. The three branches are not independent of one another, each has the necessary powers to check and balance the operations and power of the others.

The Legislative Branch in Haiti has the powers to make the laws, actually fund any executive actions, may remove the president, approves treaties, presidential appointments, approves appointments of judges.

The Executive branch as well as the critic who is always more preoccupied with their own interest, did not see the need to request for additional information from the executive branch of government.

As it is often the case in Haiti, the following questions or answers are not important for the government to make public:
- How much is the deficit?
- How much was the total budget?
- How much was the actual revenue?
- How much more was spent on what?
