After 40 years American Airlines has been flying to Haiti, what did we get out of it?

American Airlines took its first fly to Haiti on March 2, 1971, from New York to Port-au-Prince. On March 23, 2011 or forty years later, the American carrier is stronger than ever.

American Airlines now offers six daily flights to Haiti. From Florida, the airline offers five daily flights between Miami International Airport and Fort-Lauderdale. The airlines also offers one daily flight directly from New York John F. Kennedy International Airport to Toussaint L'Ouverture Airport in Port-au-Prince.

What did the Haitian population get for this?

Wouldn't it be better if we had our own airline?

What ever happened to Haiti Trans Air?

Why do we have to suffer so much when American Airlines decide not to fly to Haiti in time of crisis?

I would answer by saying that we are now celebrating forty years of services by American Airlines to Haiti. We are also paying after forty years for lack of competition, lack of services to the customers.

1. You all need to STOP complaining about AA since you cannot have your own airline.

The government receives very good compensation from them.

2. AA has always been there to help during difficult times.

Nothing more than direspect for our people, anouncing 5 daily flights from Florida to Port-au-Prince.

2 weeks ago I saw how AA employees in Hollywood International Airport disrespected our people.

The flight was cancelled due to a weather condition.

However, AA employees could not even comment or give a brief explanation why the flight had been cancelled.

it wouldn't be a bad idea to have our own airline, but the way haitians people think have to be changed.

number one by trying to get rich from one airline ticket, number two the government needs to stop taking money under the table to bring someone down, lastly be as competent as possible.

I remember the last haitians's airline, it was a mess.Look at it now, you used to be able to take 2 luggages to haiti now it is one, why are we paying that high fare
