Plaisance-du-Sud a Seat for Human Rights

One of the pleasure spots on the northwestern coast of Haiti's peninsula, Plaisance-du-Sud is a cityship of Ainse-à-Veau Arrondissement, part of the Nippes Department. Located to the south of Petit-Trou-de-Nippes, its beaches are made of sugar-white sands affronting the aquamarine Caribbean Sea. Maritime events dominate the waterfront area with wind- and wave-surfing and sea-vessel racing. Docking slips are plentiful for both small and large sea vessels.

Plaisance-du-Sud has teeming marine life, schools of fish, which live beneath the coastal waters unharmed. Although the province of smaller fish, sometimes larger fish appear in the glassy waters offshore, having taken the wrong route to their next feeding destination.

Plaisance, A Favorite Sightsseing Destination In Haiti

Plaisance is located in Haiti's Nord Department. In the Plaisance Arrondissement, it is a municipality. Around 63,278 people inhabit the place as indicated by the 2009 estimates. During the colonial times, the French considered Plaisance a favorite destination for relaxation and rest.

Located nearby, is a peak called Morne Bedoret at a height of 543 meters. The Fort Bedourete is located here. There are a large number of sites and monuments to see in Plaisance. They include Miracles Virgin Gobert's former chapel where in 1803, Alexandre Petion and Jean-Jacques Dessalines met before the launch of the final assault against Cape Francais.

Green energy vocational training program in Leogane, Haiti

Haiti is one of the poorest countries around its region of location. It has for a very long time suffered greatly from bad governance which has been transferred from one generation to another with little success at cubing it. Natural calamities have not given the country a chance either the recent 2010 earthquake being a very good example of what they have been doing to the country. It is for this reason that there has been dire need for a good and reliable solution that would change all this.

One of the most advocated for ways to cub this problem is the introduction of Green energy vocational training program in Leogane. This plan is meant to among many other things introduce a source of power for the Neges Foundation so that it can develop a platform for sustainable operations that can allow them to scale up their educational programs for children. This is mainly because education is a vital part of a country`s economy plans for the future. It is estimated that over 25% of the nation`s children do not complete their education since they drop out of school and even universities so as to find jobs that can allow them lead close to normal lives like they all dream of.

Quartier-Morin, A Small Town In Haiti

Quartier-Morin is located in Haiti's Nord Department. In Haiti's northern peninsula, it is a small town. In the Cap-Haitien Arrondissement, it is a municipality having around 24,000 inhabitants. De Quartier Morin and Quartier Morin Ville are the other names used for Quartier-Morin.

The 2010 Disputed Elections

There was a violent protest during the disputed elections that took place in the year 2010. Quartier-Morin hit the news when United Nation peacekeepers shot down one of the demonstrators.

From Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti one has to travel eighty miles to get to Quartier-Morin. It is located at 19.687655 latitude and -72.162345 longitude. Morne-Pele and Basse Plaine are the two sections into which the municipality is divided.

Bahon, A Fine Destination In Haiti

Bahon is a town located in the Nord Department of Haiti in the Grande-Rivière-du-Nord Arrondissement and on the popular river named Grand Rivière du Nord. It was located formerly on the rail road towards the south of Cap Haitien in the year 1915.

Around 17,000 people inhabit this place as per estimates. It is located at an elevation of 171 meters above the level of the sea. To the northwest of Bahon is located, Cap Haitien at a distance of 21 miles. Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti is located at 66 miles away to the south of Bahon.

Petite-Riviere-des-Nippes in Nippes Department

Petite-Riviere-des-Nippes, a cityship of the Miragoâne Arrondissement, which is under the Nippes Department, has a population of approximately 30,000. It lies below Ile Gonave and an inlet of the Caribbean Sea. Four other communes make up Petite-Rivière-des-Nippes: Liana Fond, Cholette, Sillègue and Bezin.

Recently the Petite-Rivière-des-Nippes Mayor's Office issued a press release, in which it gave an update on the progress of the city infrastructure development project.

Beginning in 1999, the local government of Petite-Rivière-des-Nippes put forth a development plan. Development committees were to be established in each commune of Petite-Rivière-des-Nippes to prioritize a list of development projects for each of the communes. Two years were committed to pilot projects, in which training of participants was closely monitored.

Rehabilitation Projects of Historical Center of Jacmel

The small town of Jacmel in Haiti's south is known for its rich history. Its buildings and infrastructure date back to the early 1800s and has been tentatively proclaimed as World Heritage Site by UNESCO. But the beautiful town filled with great potential in becoming one of Haiti's main tourist destinations was severely damaged by the 2010 earthquake that hit the country.

With the Haitian government looking at Jacmel as being a major tourist attraction in the country in the near future, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, along with the Ministry of Tourism's Stéphanie Balmir Villdrouin and the ministers Planning and Finance, launched the planned rehabilitation projects for the town's historical center. This was announced after the Prime Minister's return from touring the United States and the United Kingdom for potential cooperative efforts with these nations. This announcement was in line with the previous announcement by the Haitian government in December 2011 approved $40 million funding for Haiti's tourism industry under the Petrocaribre Fund.

Beaumont in Haiti

Beaumont is a village located in Haiti in the Grand'Anse Department. It is a municipality. In the mountain ranges, to the south of Haiti, is a beautiful village called Beaumont. Within the Corail Arrondissement, this village sits comfortably. It is also neighboring part of the Grand' Anse region.
Addressing Rural Area Revenues

Around 12,486 people inhabit Beaumont. In an ongoing effort, to address revenue of rural areas in Haiti that had been famished, Michel Martelly, President of the Government of Haiti traveled to Beaumont.

To provide basic services to the community, a revenue infusion is needed. The communities living in Beaumont are quite poor, want to have their own destinies, controlled. The government of Haiti is willing to cooperate, as well.

Capotille Inhabitants Have Every Reason to Smile with a New Modern Hospital

A new health center was recently inaugurated by the minister for Public Health and Populations, Dr. Florence D. Guillaume. This center is located at Capotille, which is located at 17 Km in the south of Ouanamminthe.

The health center will serve 18,000 inhabitants who have been for a long time closing to the Dominican Republic to seek medical attention. The overall cost of building this hospital is estimated at $8 million gourds. The minister said that more is needed to be done to the newly established hospital. This is with regard to stocking the hospital with more health equipments. Other facilities will be added to the existing ones in order to improve the conditions of the hospital. In addition to that, the hospital still required an addition of more qualified professionals who will be treating the inhabitants of Capotille.

Haitian Town of Pestel

Pestel is located in Haiti in the Grand' Anse Department in the Corail Arrondissement. Around 36,138 people inhabit this place. Pestel is a place, difficult to get out to and hence too many people don't go there.

Reaching Pestel
A plane has to be taken to Jeremie from Port-au-Prince after which it takes around three and a half hours by boat, car or truck to reach Pestel. There was no access to cell phone or electricity in the year 2007. Citerns were used to collect water, then but now the place is progressing. More cisterns have been constructed and Chateau Deau's are installed to provide families with water.
