The training school will offer various subjects and programs involving the reception and accommodation of tourists, as well as housekeeping and bar services. The program is meant to enhance the skills of Haiti students in order to provide the best of services to tourists.
The training school, which will called IFORH, was built in a former base of the MINUSTAH (United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti). The Tourism Ministry in the South redesigned the area to turn it into a tourism training school.
According to Tourism Minister Stephanie Villedrouin, the training school is one of the government's priorities these days. With the program, the ministry hopes that Haiti will become an excellent tourism destination and travelers from all over the world will be encouraged to come here. The opening of the training school marks a record in the country's tourism industry as it is the first of its kind in the city of Les Cayes.
