Monsignor Max Leroy Mesidor appointed Bishop of Fort Liberte

The head of Holy Roman Catholic Church Pope Benedict XVI appointed Monsignor Max Leroy Mesidor, as Bishop of Fort Liberte in the Diocese of Gonaives. Born in January 6, 1962, he has served various posts such as being vicar in charge as well as priest in a cathedral. He was brought up in the Diocese of Gonaives at Saint Marc Cathedral.

Max Leroy was educated in the same place where he completed his elementary schooling and joined the college of Immaculate Conception in Gonaives. The bishop later, after schooling went to the city and joined seminary to study Bachelor of Sacred Theology. He studied his first degree in Port-au-Prince when he enrolled into seminary. He completed seminary in 1987 and in the same year, he graduated with a degree in Sacred Theology.

Tyrone Edmond, Famous Haitian model

He is of the Haitian origin but resides in Americas New Jersey. Tyrone Edmond is one of the few people from, Haiti to make it to the modeling industry especially since he is male. He has for the last couple of years been involved with the industry and has had various deals all over the world where he is involved with various activities associated with modeling.

This is the reason why Tyrone Edmond is much loved in his country and why he is also so famous all over the world. He is also associated with music being a proud owner of a music label Global Music Brand. There are some great names associated with this brand such as Kat Deluna who is a great friend to the model. He is also recruiting various great and upcoming artists such as 86 who in the near future could be the next big shots in the industry.

Presidential Advisor Ronald "Roro" Nelson Defends His Reputation

Ronald Nelson, known by his popular name Roro Nelson, advisor to President Michel Martelly, has been accused of three separate incidences of violence he is alleged to have committed, one involving an ex-girlfriend. Speaking at a press conference, he refuted all charges against him, blaming the Haiti press for printing lies, damaging his reputation.

His ex, Astride Pantal, accused him of an assault to her person with a deadly weapon, which he denies. But the Dorchester County, Massachusetts Court has put him on probation for the incident. In another violent episode, a woman accused Ronald Nelson of pulling out a hand-gun and threatening her with it.

Quddus, Haitian Canadian MTV VJ and Model

He is one of the best VJ around the world. Quddus is a Canadian citizen but has resided in America as a citizen too where he has been in the music industry for quite some time now. He began as a radio presenter and programmer at his university where he was studying philosophy in University of Ottawa.

Quddus was a good student there and once he completed his studies he followed his dreams in the music industry where he tried various shows and applications. He finally landed on the competition for a VJ at the MuchMusic VJ Search. Quddus however became third and thus did not get the job. However a year later he got a job as the total request lives VJ at the MTV.

Roger Lafontant, Tonton Macoutes, and the Failed 1991 Coup d'Etat

Roger Lafontant (1931-1991), known as the former leader of Tonton Macoutes, a death squad he founded. While at medical school, attempted a 1991 coup d'etat to oust Ertha Pascal-Trouillot's provisional government that later led to his death in prison.

A loyalist supporter of President François Duvalier, a despot whose family ruled Haiti for three decades, Roger Lafontant was appointed Minister of Interior and National Defense in 1972, under Jean-Claude Duvalier, the son of the elder Duvalier. But his personal ambitions caused Duvalier to re-assign him as consul in Montreal, Canada. However, hereturned to Haiti in 1983, and was promoted to higher office as Minister of State for the Interior and National Defense. Apparently, he had learned his lesson.

Turnep Delpe over Amended Constitution

The head of state in Haiti was on Friday faced with challenge from the members of the senate including Turnep Delpe as he was preparing to publish the amended constitution. The head of the National progressive democratic party of Haiti, Mr. Turnep Delpe addressed the media saying that the amended constitution was not properly representing the views of the people of Haiti. He said that if the president would publish the constitution prior to the consensus of the senate, the will be a political divide in the country. President Michel Martely was expected to give consent to the publication of the constitution.

Bruno Blanchet

Bruno Blanchet is a prominent Haitian who was the Acting President of the Republic of Haiti. He was nick named in French as Bruno Blanchet the Elder which means one thousand seven hundred sixty. He was experienced and important personnel of Jean-Jacques Dessalines government of Haiti.

Emperor Dessalines was assassinated while he was about to make an important reform about former landless slaves of the state. His decision made a lot of senior staff of the government angry and he was killed, as a result, in 1806 by his staffs including Alexandre Petion, Jean-Pierre Boyer, Andre Rigaud, Bruno Blanchet and some others.

Emmanuel "Toto" Constant and American Foreign Policy, Match Made in Hell

François Emmanuel "Toto" Constant, born in 1956, started FRAPH (Front for the Advancement and Progress of Haiti), a death squad in mid-1993, at the request of U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency officer, Col. Patrick Collins, after President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, unable to take office, had been exiled to South Africa. The intent of FRAPH was to gather intelligence to infiltrate and destroy the Aristide pro-democracy movement, terrorizing Aristide loyalists in the process.

In October 1993, Emmanuel assumed a major role in world affairs, when he and his FRAPH goons rioted at the Port-au-Prince port, as the USS Harlan, with a contingent of 200 soldiers and President Aristide aboard, attempted to dock at the pier. The USS Harlan was unable to deliver Aristide back to his country to rule, forestalling U.S. efforts to put Aristide back into power. Or so it seemed.

Evans Paul of Konvasyon Inite Demokratik(KID), Laurent Lamothe not eligible

Evans Paul, leader of Konvasyon Inite Demokratik (KID), and member of the Alternative Platform, says that Laurent Lamothe, Prime Minister-designate, has refused to meet with the Alternative Platform as part of the ratification process to assume the office of Prime Minister. Instead, the Prime Minister-designate has chosen to meet only with members of parliament, trying to subvert the ratification process. Paul describes this move as "a bad practice." The Alternative Platform clearly sees that the Prime Minister-designate is not qualified to assume the responsibilities of office, and asks that Lamothe's deputy colleagues vote their conscience and " . . . assume their responsibilities, on voting day."

Georges Loubert Chancy of Skah Shah

The artiste Georges Loubert Chancy was born in Gros Mornes, Haiti. He joined the Skah Shah 1 band and became one of the most notable members of the group. In 1969 to 1972 Georges Loubert Chancy was a member of Shleu Shleu. He is a composer of many of the songs the band has done and outstandingly one of the original members of the group. Georges Loubert Chancy is one of the best Haitian Saxophone Players of all time.

This first solo album of leader Skah Shah was born after the conflict between him and Ya Appolon for "control, direction or musical direction" of Skah Shah. Some of the members of the group besides include Daniel Block who plays the Tenor saxophone, Anderson Cameau who does the trumpet and Jean-Michel Victor St. does the singing while others contribute to the harmony to come up with the melodious songs you listen to each day.
