Carl Alexandre As Haiti's Deputy Special Representative For The UN

Ban Ki-moon the United Nations Secretary General has announced Carl Alexandre's name as his Deputy Special Representative for United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti.

Kevin Kennedy Replaced

Kevin Kennedy has been replaced by Carl Alexandre. Kevin had served in that position with dedication from April 2010 to December 2012, for which the Secretary General was very grateful.

After the 2010 earthquake, Kevin had made valuable contribution to Haiti. On March 1st, Carl is expected to take on the functions of Kevin. From January 14th, the interim period, Ross Mountain of New Zealand has been appointed by the Secretary General.

Extensive leadership and managerial experience

From 2004 to 2009 he was the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Since 2001, Carl Alexandre has been the Senior Executive Service of the United States Government as career member.

He has extensive leadership and managerial experience in the laws and development at international level. Currently, Mr. Alexandre oversees the implementation and development of the rule-of-law initiatives and security sector worldwide. He is the Director of the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training in the United States Department of Justice.

Previous Experience

From November to 1994 to June 1997, Carl Alexandre had been in the position of Senior Resident Legal Advisor in Haiti and thus served the Government as well. He brings in considerable wealth of experience that will help Haiti in its endeavors to put in place world standard institutions.

He has attained the Bachelor of Arts degree in public and government administration from Oklahoma City University School of Law and the City University of New York,. Mr. Carl Alexandre is married with two children.
