Michel Martelly plans to restore Haitian military, 3, 500 troops to start

It has been reported that President Michel Martelly has a plan to restore the Haitian Military to replace the U.N. Peacekeeping force. The plan calls for $95 million to train and equip the new Military force of 3,500 soldiers. According to the Associated Press who obtained the document from a Haitian official,

The Haitian government reported that one of the objective of the new Military force is to patrol the border with the Dominican Republic, now frequently used by drug traffickers and for other types of smuggling. The plan has a target date from November to January to conduct the first class of troops recruited

A U.S. Embassy spokesman, Jon Piechowski, reported that Haitian government officials had recently met with embassy personnel to discuss the plan.

Questions:

Will there be a plan in place to prevent coups and human rights abuses?

The Haitian military should be restored to 20,000 strong and an unarmed and volunteer civilian neighborhood police force should be operating with about 15,000 people to support the regular police.

The police should have total jurisdiction over the civilian population helping the the judiciary.

NO UN or foreign force should be allowed to operate in Haiti.

Yes, this is a wonderful idea. Thank you, Mr. President.

But, please make sure that the troops are properly trained.

No more of these human rights abuses, where the prisoners were so badly tortured, that they died during the interrogation, and then their bodies were never found, I know personally of the case of a 14 year old who died this way, for a crime he did not commit.

His grandmother also died of sorrow...Meaning, that they killed two people.

Do
not revive the old army, CREATE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT
