Here is Emeline Michel and Dener Ceide Perform the popular song "Merci Bondier" at the White House on the occasion of Caribbean Heritage Month Celebration. It has been estimated that over 10 million people from 30 Caribbean territories have played a role in shaping America.

In 2004, Congresswoman Barbara Lee introduced legislation proclaiming a month dedicated as Caribbean-American History Month. President George W. Bush was the first president to issue the proclamation declaring June Caribbean-American Heritage Month on June 5, 2006.
