Pierre Thomas, American football player with Haitian origin

Alongside Pierre Garçon of the Indianapolis Colts and Jonathan Vilma of the New Orleans Saints, Thomas is Haitian American Football player with a remarkable reputation. His career choice in American football was inspired by his mother and cousin. He has also drawn a lot of inspiration from his hero Barry Sanders, former running back for the Detroit Lions.
Pierre Thomas was born in December 18, 1984. He first developed interest for baseball before converting to a football player. He achieved great performances in his high school career. As a senior, Pierre led Thornton Fractional South High School to the state semifinals. He piloted his High School team to achieve outstanding results in Illinois state history.
Pierre did his college education at the University of Illinois. He played a total of 40 games in his college football career. At the University of Illinois he is ranked 6th in the school's college football history.
After college Pierre Thomas went undrafted by the National Football League in 2007. He was signed as a free agent by the New Orleans Saints. He became the team's key special performer.
Thomas helped secure a prolific Saints offense that made it all the way to the Super Bowl XLIV. He has played for the New Orleans Saints since he left college in 2007. One of his special highlights is when he was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week in the 14th week of the 2008 season.
