Valerie Rateau from Mirebalais among the victims of Boston double explosion

Among the deceased was a boy of 8 years. Many other children and adults were rushed to the hospitals in critical conditions. Boylston Street, which was cheering up the international participants, suddenly turned into a container of random chaos followed by a graveyard silence. Officials have found out that the detonations were caused by gunpowder acting as explosives with shrapnel and ball bearing maximizing the impact.

Among the injured was Valerie Rateau who hails from Mirebalais, Haiti. This 24 year old woman is currently undergoing treatment in Tufts Medical Center. Doctors have confirmed that though she has some respiratory complications, she will be discharged soon and is currently keeping stable. Valerie Rateau is a cosmetology student with Empire Beauty School which is not far from the explosion site.

President Obama did not really call it an act of terrorism but in in condolence message for the victims and their families, Obama mentioned that he will do everything necessary and turn every stone to find out those responsible for this coward act and hold them accountable and that those responsible will feel the weight of justice for what they have done to the innocent.
