Identity Confusion
According to Michel, the invitation states that it was for Muscadin Yves but his client's name is Muscadin Jean Yves Jason. The lawyer said the government prosecutor should clarify the identity of the person to which the invitation is sent. The current subpoena does not have the correct information, he added.
Urgent Notice
Muscadin Jean Yves Jason was required to appear in court 24 hours after receiving the subpoena. Michel said it was not possible. Aside from the fact that Jason already had a schedule that day, it is not right and proper to give such a short notice for the kind of case that the authorities are dealing with. Michel insisted that Jason, who was ousted as the capital mayor in March, would reconsider its decision only if a proper subpoena containing clear and accurate information is sent. According to investigators, the fire is likely to be a case of arson.
