Andre Michel wants PHTK disqualified and listed as terrorist organization

The lawyer Michel is not a fan of the Michel Martelly and his political party PHTK. As a matter of fact, he wants the party to be removed from the electoral process in Haiti. Andre Michel feels that the PHTK should have been disqualified by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) long ago as PHTK and its allies were named for acts of violence during the August 9, 2015 elections. He also stated that PHTK was involved in the massive electoral fraud during the October 25, 2015 elections.

According to Andre Michel, PHTK is not a democratic political party but rather a terrorist organization.

It appears that PHTK or the Political Party of former President Michel Martelly does no longer believe in Non-violence protest. Their protest last Saturday is definietly a turning point as they erected barricades, burned tires and broke several car windshields during their protest march. As they reached Radio Caraibes FM, the protesters launched some slogans against journalist and radio show host Jean Monard Methelus and threw stones on the building, breaking several windows.

2014 Kanaval, "Tet Kole" or "Tet Kale" pou Ayiti Pi Djanm

From March 2 to 4, 2014, the historic City of Independence Gonaives will be in celebration mode as it will host The National Carnival. Will this Kanaval period mark the beginning of the electoral campaign for the "Tèt Kale" Political Party, ahead of everyone else?

Why do I say that?

Picture this:
1) Theme selected for 2014 Kanaval: "Tèt Kole pou Ayiti Pi Djanm"
2) Who made the selection: Martelly's government "Tèt Kale"
3) What's special about 2014: "Election Year"

We also know for a fact that the slogan in the mouth of many during the carnival season wil not be "Tèt Kole, but rather "tèt Kale".

From "Tet Kale" to "Kale Tet", Martelly's slogan turning against him

Is the popular and famous slogan "Tet Kale" that contributed to the election of Michel Martelly is now turning against him? One might think so if you have been listening to the opposition lately. Michel Martelly had so much success with the slogan "Tet Kale", he recently made the decision to form a new political party named "Tet kale"

One thing I am sure Michel Martelly did not think about in selecting the popular slogan "Tet Kale", is how easy it would be to turn it to a critic against his own government.

Maybe the opposition should thank the Haitian Creole language for its various abilities, one of which is the ability to completely the meaning of words by just switching their position. The slogan "Tet Kale" has been working so well for Michel Martelly, that is until people started calling it a government of "Kale Tet".

Haitian Government Accused of Establishing Paramilitary Force in Les Cayes, "Le Police"

The Haitian government is currently in hiatus and conflict due to the emergence of a militant group claiming to be associated with the country's most powerful individual, the President. A group of fugitives who referred to themselves as "The Police" recently publicly claimed to have a connection with Haitian President Michel Martelly's political party. They have transformed themselves as the paramilitary force of Les Cayes' police department and are currently well-armed.

Les Cayes' government commissioner, Jean-Marie Salomon, announced that he has information on the identity of the group's members, mostly with criminal backgrounds and some having escaped from prison. With all the fuss on The Police's claim of being part of a strong political party, the Commissioner declined in confirming the group's political affiliation. This has worried the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH), especially in terms of the safety and security of Haiti's southern department. RNDDH's Executive Director Pierre Espérance believes that The Police belonged to Martelly's Tet Kale Party and was supposedly formed by Haiti's Minister of Justice Jean Renel Sanon in order to commit repression in the country.

Then they joined the children at tables and chatted with them about what they wanted to be when they grew up. Later Martelly and St-Cyr handed out soccer balls to screaming and excited children, who asked Martelly if he would play with them. Cafeteria Tet Kale

The official launch of the "Kafeteria Tet Kale" or "People Canteen" on 4th Avenue Bolosse in Carrefour, a largely populated commune in the capital Port-au-Prince, was led by Haitian President Michel Martelly last July 27. Together with Ronsard St-Cyr, the country's Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, the project is aimed at building better relations with the population and at the same time improving their living conditions. During the launching, President Martelly distributed food and soccer balls to numerous children.

The Martelly administration's Kafeteria Tet Kale is quite popular in Haiti, serving more than 500 customers a day. It is a cafeteria in the form of a truck, and was first introduced in the Carnaval des Fleurs, or the Carnival of flowers, the first carnival in Port-au-Prince since the 2010 earthquake. It immediately attracted carnival goers with its eye-candy color scheme of pink and white.
