RE: Army Is Enemy Of Development, Peace And Freedom, Fmr. Costa Rica...

Reinstating an army with soldiers who are barely educated (grammar School) is a major mistake.

Why not create a mandatory military service with different branches such as:
1) Engineering Army Corps with graduating students from the Engineering schools to be responsible for Land surveys, irrigation systems, mapping of underground water, roads, dams.
2) Medical Corps wit graduates from the Schools of medicine, nursing etc.to build hospitals, health centers
3) a Corps of investigators (similar to the FBI) to infiltrate all public agencies: customs, DGI, banks, police, schools and universities to fight corruption and collect data on criminals.

4) an Agricultural Corps to assist the peasants in the remote places with graduate from the school of agronomy

It is time to stop putting weapons in the hands of illiterate people who can barely read and write who are beating up the civilians.

We could create better citizens and take pride in our professional
