There should have never been any doubts about the importance of the military service in a nation.

For exemple, Haiti earned its independence from a revolutionary war fought by an indigenous army to abolish slavery.

The reconstruction of our country devastated by the terrible earthquake on January 12,2010, truly needs the versatile assistance of the Armed Forces of Haiti and a stronger National Police Force.

At this very moment, we are rebuilding our infrastructures, general hospitals, housing units, universities, sports facilities etc..., all scientific contributions are most welcomed within the national society.

The military superpowers such as the United States of America, Russia, France, Great Britain or China and some of them with troops in Haiti, like Brazil leading Minustha, have never thought of a global demilitarization.

Therefore nothing is so wrong in national defense for peace and security amongst the people.

When Haitians living and working overseas decide to pay taxes from their incomes, is to ensure the social and economic development of Haiti.
