Santa Maria, Christopher Columbus's ship found off Haiti after 500 years

Franklin Metayer - May 14 2014, 12:15 AM

The full excavation of Santa Maria will be good for the economic growth of the country.

This monument will not only represent a remarkable memorabilia of a historical event that took place centuries ago during the expedition financed by Queen of Spain in the discovery of the New World by Christopher Columbus and his crews but also an everlasting treasure for Haiti.

I hope that the Haitian people stop destroying those historical monuments by working along with their government to clean, develop the country and take care of the environment.

The only way this can happen is through education, sanitation and environmental justice.

Let's work together to bring Haiti forward, not backward.
