Dr. Watson Exantus, New Director for Notre Dame of Petit Goave Hospital, Haiti

The appointment of Dr. Watson for the top position was one of the strategies aimed at improving health facilities in Haiti. Director Gen. expressed her great hopes in her appointee and was confident that Dr. Watson has all that is needed to bestow Petit Goave Hospital to its glory in terms of health service provision and participating in the well being of the community. Taking over the responsibility, Dr. Watson assured the Ministry that he would be compiling a statement to address the immediate needs of Petit Goave Hospital which will act as a major stepping stone for its rise. He also promised to fully dedicate himself in facilitating effective and efficient health services provision.

A couple of weeks before the appointment of the new Managing Director, the hospital had been broken into and stained with fecal material on its walls. To some extent, this was an evident expression of dissatisfaction of the community to the services rendered by the hospital which attracted the attention of the ministry and had had to act promptly.
