Let me put it this way instead. Can Government Commissioner, Jean Renel Senatus, really crack down on beggars in Haiti?

To be fair to the Government Commissioner, he made the point that he is referring to beggars in front or near banks. "There are beggars, who are part of networks of thieves who stand in front of the BRH to the Rue Pavée, in front of the BNC, of commercial banks and serve as scouts for thieves".

If we had to come up with the real list of beggars in Haiti, I assume that the list would be pretty long. I have a few names:

1) The people at Airport Toussaint L'Ouverture who want to help you with your bags whether you want it or not.

The Superior Council of Judicial Power (CSPJ) just voted to break up the Permanent Electoral Council created by that they just created. It was reported by Radio Vision 2000 that 5 members of the CSPJ voted to get ride of the Contested CEP.

A total of 6 members of the Permanent Electoral Council have already been appointed. Me Josué Pierre-Louis was appointed President of that new CEP.

As you may remember, the decision for the establishment of the Electoral Council was not supported by many members of the society. Paul Evans said that President Martelly is plunging the country into a crisis. Rosny Desroches called it a "serious error" the decision of the Executive to form the CEP without the representatives of Parliament .

The son of President Michel Martelly has been denounced by Haitian lawyer Samuel Madistin who accused the Haitian government of nepotism for paying his son T-Micky $50,000 a Month.

He reported on Radio Vision 2000 that T-Micky receives $5,000 per concert and is being booked for communal events throughout the country. He is paid cash money by the National Palace, while groups like Tropicana, T-Vice and Djakout don't make that kind of money.

Samuel Madistin told Vision 2000 Anchorwoman Marie Lucie Bonhomme that the numbers were confirmed.

The Haitian lawyer will probably have to show in court where he found these numbers to accuse the president of Nepotism and Favoritism.

The first Senator of Southeast, Edwin Zenny, was unable to control his anger last Saturday. He actually committed one of the most despicable act to a fellow Haitian. While judge of Peace in Jacmel, Bob Simonis and Professor Pierre Lucien participated in a radio show hosted by the journalist Etzer Pierre, he got involved in an exchange with the first senator of South-East, Edwin Zenny (Edo) who was not invited into the show.

Senator Zenny who is a close ally of President Michel Martelly called judge Bob Simonis a thief on the radio station, following the release of these four individuals. As you can imagine, the situation got worse. Ultimately, according to report, Senator Edwin Zenny, not being able to reach judge Bob Simonis to punch his face, did the next best thing. According to reports in all the media, he would collect mucus and spit on the face of judge Bob Simonis. Professor Pierre Lucien who was seating close by the judge also received a good portion of the Senator's spit as well.

This is the end of an era once again in the history of Haiti. The Government announced that the non-profit aid group of Sean Penn will oversee the demolition of the wrecked National Palace, free of charge. According to Government spokesperson, Lucien Jura, Penn's J/P HRO group will begin the demolition in the next 10 days. Sean Penn holds the title as ambassador-at-large for Haiti.

The crumbled Haiti National Palace has symbolized the level of destruction that took place in the Port-au-Prince area following the 2010 earthquake. Thousands of buildings were destroyed and over 200,000 people died.

The date is set for Wednesday, August 15, 2012. What will it be. Will Michel Martelly go without the the participation of the Legislative branch and form a Permanent Electoral Council to organize the next election in Haiti or will he become more conciliatory and agree to Temporary Council?

That is the $100,000.00 question.

The Government announced recently that if by August 15th, Haitian Legislators did not come up with their three representatives. they will be put on the sideline. The day is today.

We are now waiting for a decision.

We have just learned that the Haitian Prime minister has made a big change in his cabinet. Laurent Lamothe had announced several changes in his cabinet and one that really caughts my attention is the replacement of person in charge of the interior ministry. Thierry Mayard-Paul has been replaced by former Minister of Social Affairs Ronsard Saint-Cyr.

The new Ministerial cabined for Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe is out and we have the names. Many of the same individuals were kept in their positions. Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe presented his general policy before the Haitian Senators and it was approved before midnight on May 8, 2012

The ministerial cabinet of the government Martelly-Lamothe is composed of 16 Ministers. Here they are:

Ronsard St-Cyr, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor

Thomas Jacques, Minister of Agriculture Natural Resources and Rural Development

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs - Laurent Lamothe

Less than a century before the shameful injustice the Nazis would inflict upon a people, Germany busied itself humiliated Haiti for showing allegiance to the wrong side in the French-Prussian war. After successfully strong-arming the smaller country into making payment on their debts to German merchants with high indemnities, the German's ended the seizure of the Haitian warships, used as leverage, by returning the ships with their Haitian flags trampled and smeared with feces.

This was, however, not to be enough. Emile Lüders, child of a Haitian mother and German father, was arrested and sentenced to jail for thirty days after beating a Haitian soldier. After an appeal he was fined to a year's jail-time on the 14th of October 1897. After forcing the Haitian Government and the then President, Simon Sam, into pardoning Lüders, Germany demanded to have all the police and judges involved in the case fired in accordance to the initial request which the Haitian government had ignored.
