Will Gary Conille be rejected because of Residency?

I don't think so. The issue of country residence for our newly nominated Prime Minister, Dr Garry Conille, seems to be the only problem that might stop him from becoming the next president of Haiti.

The "Haitian Joudalist" has learned that Dr. Garry Conille has been living outside of the country for over seven years as an employee of the United Nations.

Chavannes Jean-Baptiste denounced the violation of Article 157 of the Constitution including the provisions relating the number of years of residence would be inconsistent with the current situation of the candidate for Prime Minister.

Demands of 16 Senators to Michel Martelly made public

The Haitian Senators have spoken. The 16 Haitian Senators or as they come to be known as the group of 16 released a statement in which they made several demands to President Michel Martelly. According to the Senators, this is the only way the current crisis can be solved between the Haitian President and the Senators.

This is definitely a long list and in it, there are several demands made to the president.

It is a proclamation of the current situation and the Senators.

Michel Martelli is keeping the population guessing as to his choice for the next Prime Minister. Several names have been incirculation; however only two have been confirmed to be serious candidates. They are Wilson Laleau and Daniel Supplice.

Forget about other names that have appeared on the list of possible candidates for Prime Ministers. It has been common practices in Haiti for some people to include their own names in high government functions that have become vacant just for the publicity and name recognition.

The two candidates rumored to be on the final list of President Michel Martelly are well qualified for the Prime Minister position and also do not carry baggage that would make it hard to get a consensus. Professor Wilson Laleau is the current Vice Rector of Academic Affairs at the Université d'Etat d'Haiti. Sociologist Daniel Supplice is also a well respected educator.
