Hospital Haitian Institute for Rehabilitation, Bon Repos

The Haitian Institute of Rehabilitation Gérard Léon is the first of its kind in Haiti. It is a public center built under the joint effort of Haitian Ministries, more importantly by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Affairs through the office of Gérald Oriol Jr., who is the Haiti's Secretary of State for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities (BSEIPH or Bureau du Secrétaire d'Etat à l'Intégration des Personnes Handicapées). The Haitian Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Florence D. Guillaume was present during its inaugural ceremony. The ceremony was attended by many other representatives from the administration and delegates of the tripartite cooperation Brazil, Cuba and Haiti.

On behalf of the Haitian people, President Martelly expressed his gratitude to the Brazilian and Cuban governments. He said his administration will make every effort to deliver the best to his countrymen. The First lady reminded the importance of a community hospital in a society. She has expressed her confidence that the Haitian Institute for Rehabilitation Gérard Léon is a definite milestone in the improvement of quality health care in Haiti.
