Herold Christophe Dead of Cancer at 50

Haitian singer, Herold Christophe, died after a lengthy battle with cancer. One of the premier music artists of the 1980s and a gifted songwriter, his intense and sensual style made him a favorite of the older generation.

He sang in Creole and some of his greatest hits include: "Maman", "Je t'aime", "Loin de toi", "Manou", "Donne-moi", "Chantons en Coeur", and "Je pars". He is survived by wife Marie Josee Louis and his six children.
