Canada to take over command MINUSTAH in Haiti from Brazil

Canada agrees to replace Brazil and take command over UN stabilization mission in Haiti. UN stabilization mission in Haiti currently has 2,370 soldiers, 2,600 police officers, and 1,500 civilian officials on the ground in Haiti, including five Canadian soldiers and 90 police officers. Based on an agreement between Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in February, 2016, Canada will increase it participation in UN Peacekeeping missions in Haiti by sending 1,000 to 2,000 police officers and soldiers and take over command of the UN mission from Brazil after its mission mandate expires in October.

Haitian Entrepreneur Jean-Paul Coutard built second bus

Jean-Paul Coutard has done it again. Today(3/9/16), Coutard Motors S.A. will envail its second bus made in Haiti. This new bus that is expected to be used for transportaton is more comfortable and strong than the previous one built in 2013. It is also equiped of cameras both inside and outside. The new bus will be able o transport 60 passengers comfortably, an increase of 4 seats.

Evans Paul prohibited from entering Prime Minister residence in Bourdon

On Monday, March 7, 2016, Former Prime Minister Evans Paul who thought he could go back to the official residence of the Prime Minister to conduct business as usual after abandoning it following the investiture of Prime Minister Fritz Jean was very surprised. Some agents of the CIMO force were guarding the facility and received order to prevent Evans Paul or any member from his cabinet from entering the premises. Evans Paul who thinks the space is still under his control since there is not yet another Prime Minister wanted to use the official residence of the Prime Minister to meet with his potential successor.

G15 proposes Evaliere Beauplan of Lavalas for Senate President

Conflict in the Haitian senate as 13 senators of the majority bloc said they want to vote for Evalière Beauplan (PONT) to become president of the Senate. On the other hand, the minority senators G9 feel that Evalière Beauplan is another Lavalas and having him as president of the Senate would be handing the entire government over to Lavalas. Recall that President Jocelerme Privert and Prime Minister named, Fritz Jean, are said to be of Lavalas tendency.

Jovenel Moise in fifth place, not qualified for run off election

Jovenel Moise and the political party PHTK have not been feeling well since February 19, 2016. That was the time when Jovenel Moise and representatives of PHTK met provisional president Jocelerme Privert and learned the bad news. According to Jovenel Moise who was recently on Scoop FM, PHTK was informed at that time by Privert that he was not aware that Jovenel Moise was qualified for the run-off presidential election. Instead, based on the information in possession of the Haitian president, Jovenel Moise came in fifth place in that election and not first as the CEP of Pierre Louis Opont would have suggested.

Moise Jean Charles issued 4 day ultimatum for Commission of verification

If President Jocelerme Privert thought that he was having lots of pressures to put a new Prime Minister in place, things are not getting are not getting any better for him. The leader of Platform Pitit Dessalines just just issued an ultimatum to the new President. According to Moise Jean Charles, Jocelerme Privert has a maximum of four days to put in place a commission of verification to investigate the results of the previous elections.

Fritz Jean takes his case to the public, at "L'Invite du Jour" with Valery Numa

After multiple discussions, dealings and sharing of various positions of his ministerial cabinet with members of the legislative branch, Prime Minister nominee Fritz Jean wants to take his message directly to the public. On Friday, March 4, 2016, he will be the guest of Valery Numa at "L'Invite du Jour" at 8:00 to present his case to the public.

Stanley Lucas on salary for propaganda work for Martelly Government

Stanlay lucas has been all over the media during the past five years defending the government of Michel Martelly against multiple attacks. Many at one point considered him as a true friend and believer of the accomplishments of the Martelly government. However, based on information just released, Stanley Lucas was just doing a job which is ongoing propaganda for the government of Michel Martelly.

According to Valery Numa of Radio Vision 2000, Stanley receives a check of $5000 US on a regular basis just to do propaganda for the government. Initially the checks were being issued by the Haitian embassy in Washington D.C. However when Paul Altidor became the Haitian Ambassador in Washington, he had an issue with the arrangement. According to Valery Numa, Ambassador Altidor did not want to pay a salary to someone who did not work at the embassy. As solution was found where Stanley Lucas would continue to receive his salary but it will be issued instead by the Haitian embassy in New York.
