The process to create a Verification Commission for the Elections has began

Provisional President Jocelerme Privert and various political party representatives were meeting this Thusdaday, April 12, 2016 to discuss one of the most challenging aspect of his presidency, the creation of a Verification Commission. The objective of this particular meeting was to define the role of this Commission. Among the people who were at the meeting, we noticed the presence of Eric Jean-Baptiste, Yves Germain, Maryse Narcisse, Yvon Feuille, Evelt Fanfan, Jacques Sampeur, Edwin Justin and Pierre Espérance.

The G8 declines the invitation. They issued a statement saying that "they did not want to give substance to the perception of those who see in the multiplication of these meetings a delaying tactic or the temptation to use the Commission as a blackmail tool"

Privert's agendas: Verification Commission and National Dialogue

Daly Valet came out to explain to the public where the government is heading. According the Special Adviser to President Jocelerme Privert, the government has two main objectives. On the one hand, the government wants to open a dialogue with the various political actors and various sectors of civil society for the implementation of the Verification Commission. On the other hand, the government is looking for a national dialogue, with at goal to establish a sustainable social pact of political stability and economic development for Haiti.

Final Results of the elections for 69 municipalities in Haiti

The CEP has published the final results of the municipal elections that took place on October 25, 2015 for 69 municipalities as they were not as these municipalities were not subject to any challenge. Here are the results by Department:

Roro Nelson did not respond to the invitation of Me Jean Danton Leger

Who will finally retreat. Two people with strong personality and self confidence are in a fight to show to the public who is the strongest. After much publicized invitation of Roro Nelson to present in Court yesterday, the man neither showed his face not present any excuse for his absence.

Roro Nelson did not respond to the invitation of Government Commissioner Jean Danton Leger to answer to those complaints brought against him. In a press conference, the chief of Parquet of Port-au-Prince yesterday stated that a second letter will be sent shortly to Roro Nelson, inviting him once again. If he continues to ignore the request, actions provided by Haitian justice system will be taken against him.

Privert, Jean-Charles transforming the government with 15 new appointments

The government of Jocelerme Privert and Enex Jean-Charles is moving aggressively to take control over the control of the government left by Michel Martelly. In a Decree scheduled to be made public today (April 11, 2016) the government has appointed 15 individuals to various sectors of the administration, including Minister, Secretary General, Directors General, Chief of Staff and Secretary General at the Primature.

Olivier Martelly added to list of people not allowed to leave Haiti

The son of former President Michel Martelly, Olivier Martelly, is unable to leave the country as he joins the quickly expending list of former officials forbidden from leaving the country until they can account for money they were responsible for spend for various projects during the government of Michel Martelly.

Government Commissioner Jean Danton Leger wants to know how several millions of dollars for the explanation and building of parks and soccer stadiums throughout the country were spent.

The current Minister of Justice, Camille Edward Junior, doesn't seem to have any problem with the decision of Jean Danton Leger to issue these travel restrictions, saying he is an experienced lawyer who knows the limits of his power.

Michel-Ange Gedeon, appointed Director General of the National Police

Friday, April 8, 2016, to the surprise of many, the head of of the Central Directorate of Administrative Police (DCPA), Michel-Ange Gedeon, was appointed by President Jocelerme Privert as the new Director General of the National Police, replacing Godson Orelus, pending ratification by the Senate of the Republic. The ceremony took place at the National Police Headquarters in Pétion-Ville

Michel-Ange Gedeon was appointed about a Month ago at the Central Directorate of administrative police. In this new position, he will be focusing on the security of the population.

Michele Bennett tells Marc Antoine Acra to stop vomit on Duvalier

The former First Lady of Haiti, Michele Bennett Duvalier, is back in the public scene. After more than 30 year living quietly, she has decided to come out in defense of the family reputation.

In an open letter, Michele Bennett Duvalier has decided to make some corrections on a statement recently made by businessman Marc Antoine Acra.

Background:
The new Government Commissioner, Jean Danton Léger, recently made the decision to impose a travel ban on Marc Antoine Acra following the scandal where a boat from his company NABATCO "Manzanares" containing a cargo of drugs from Colombia was seized. Subsequently, Marc Anthoine Acra went on to say that:"" .......... a Government Commissioner set up a transitional government advocating transparency and justice acts as the time of the totalitarian regime of Duvalier asking arbitrary acts, anarchic and totally illegal. "

J'ai lu ce jour avec interet ta note de presse du 6 Avril ecoule parue sur facebook.

Dans cette note, tu contestes l'interdiction de depart prise a ton encontre par le Commissaire du Gouvernement, Me.Danton Leger, suite au dossier du bateau "Le Manzanares" qui a ete saisi contenant une cargaison de sucre et de drogue qui etait destinee a ta Societe NABATCO en provenance de la Colombie.

Je comprends que tu te defendes et que tu defendes aussi l'honneur et le nom de ta famille qui depuis 3 generations travaillent et investissent dans le pays. Tout citoyen a droit a la justice de son pays. Egalement, c'est tout a fait normal que le Commissaire du Gouvernement fasse son travail d'enquete et d'instruction en toute serenite pour trouver le ou les coupables concernes par l'importation clandestine de cette grande cargaison de drogue et le deferer devant la justice.

Wilson Laleau, latest to be included on Travel interdiction list

It appears that Government Commissioner Jean Danton Léger is issuing travel interdiction like you have never seen before. After Alix Celestin and businessman Marc Antoine Acra, former Finance Minister under Michel Martelly, Wilson Laleau, is the latest to be included in the list. According to some reliable sources, the decision was taken by Jean Danton Léger but not made public yet. The decision is expected to be communicated to the press this thursday, April 7, 2016.
