The charity the actress, model, and mom wishes to raise money for is the J/P Relief Organization, the darling of her friend and associate, actor, Sean Penn, whose own interest in Haiti and its relief since the earthquake has been well documented. At last count, she'd raised nearly $8,500, but, with a benchmark of $500,000, the former wife of rocker, Tommy Lee, has a mountain to surmount in time for the marathon.
Promising to give updates on her training, as well as information on other races she'll be running in up to the November 3rd date of one of the world's most famous marathons, Anderson is hoping the social media avenues of Twitter and Facebook will help her and the Haitian Relief Organization raise the funds to help, what she describes as a 'magical country'.
Having already given of herself in a visit to Haiti in 2010, following the devastation, Anderson said her wish to help stems from her experience as a witness of the poverty of the people in a country whose rich culture should have ensured its wealth.
