Sean Penn might be doing lots of good things in Haiti with his Haitian Relief Organization (HRO). However, he is also doing very well for himself in the process. According to his tax return for 2013, his Haiti relief charity over $126,000 on travel in a single year. Due to his celebrity status, Sean Penn couldn't travel just you or me in economy class. The Haitian Relief Organization (HRO) had to pick-up the tab on the actor's first-class flights for his status and security reasons. At least he paid out of his own pocked when he went to Mexico back in October to meet kingpin El Chapo

This year, the third annual Help Haiti Home benefit dinner party organized by Sean Penn was held at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on January 11, 2014. The event raised close to $6 million for the J/P Haitian Relief Organization and there were many surprised and drama.
Among the internationally known individuals, you find Bette Midler, Michael Douglas, Gwyneth Paltrow, Charlize Theron, Piers Morgan, Chelsea Handler, Sarah Silverman and Idris Elba just to name a few.
The biggest surprise was the apparition of U2, the Irish rock band from Dublin. The popular musical band was formed in 1976.

Pamela Anderson to run in New York City marathon for Haitian charity

The effort seems worth it as Madonna has taken photos, including one at the Mirebalais University Hospital, along with its staff, and posted them on Instagram, shedding light on her trip and giving attention to the cause to the millions of people across Instagram's huge social platform.
Star Pamela Anderson Runs First-Time Marathon for Haiti Relief
The ING New York City Marathon was held recently to raise funds for Haiti's reconstruction projects and relief agency work happening there. Canadian actress Pamela Anderson, formerly of Baywatch fame, participated in the race. She was representing non-profit organization, J/P HRO. A Haitian contingent also ran in the race, including Astrel Clovis, who completed the run in two hours and forty-six minutes. Clovis's team will be running next June 2014 in the Petion-Ville Half Marathon.
Pamela Anderson had never competed in a race before, but was game for the challenge. She had just six weeks to prepare. Her strenuous workouts several days a week helped her with endurance. She does a full-body workout, using free weights and cardio training. She ran with brother, Gerry, and raised $75,864 in funds for Haiti.
Haiti at New York City Marathon, J/P Haitian Relief Organization
Five of Haiti's most determined runners are gearing up to travel to the United States where they will take part in the New York City Marathon and make history just for their participation. The team will have their names remembered as being the first representatives for the country of Haiti in the New York City Marathon.
While the slow and steady style race is to be run on Sunday, November 3rd, the group of three men and two women will journey to New York early, set to arrive on October 29, to acclimatize themselves and, no doubt, also get acquainted with the city.
Sean Penn to support Half-marathon winners to New York City Marathon
Haiti held a very rare half-marathon on Sunday, June 9. Among the participants was the charity of Sean Penn, the Hollywood actor. The top five finishers of the half-marathon will be sent to ING New York City Marathon to be held on November 3. These five people will be sponsored by J/P Haitian Relief Organization of Sean Penn. However, this sponsorship is yet to get approval from Haitian Amateur Athletics Federation. League's president Alain Jean-Pierre that the sponsorship would probably be approved by June 10, Monday.
A January story from Associated Press probably stemmed the decision of sponsoring the runners. A distance runner from Haiti was featured in the story. The runner actually represented the hardship that many Haitians in Port-au-Prince continue to deal with even after 3 years of the devastating earthquake that shattered Haiti in 2010.
