Eske Jean Bertrand Aristide te kapab yon Nelson Mandela?

I feel that I have to settle this argument because I have been hearing too much of it. What is the argument: since the death of Nelson Mandela whom many considers to be one of the great leaders of the 20th century, many Haitians have been saying that the former Haitian president, Jean Bertrand Aristide was giving the chance to become such a great leader for Haiti; however, he blew his chance due to a lack of vision.

Sean Penn posted first photo on Instagram from Haiti.

While it seemed the whole world and their grandparents had taken to the Instagram phenomenon like ducks to water, one man had held out of the craze... until now. It was reported, with more than a little humor, that Hollywood thespian and Oscar-award winner Sean Penn has finally taken to the new pastime around the world and posted his first picture on the popular picture-sharing based website.

The post is not of an idle, racy or salacious picture, but rather, one that depicts the plight still faced by many in Haiti, as it shows the devastation of a site still left flattened after the 2010 earthquake, a subject very close to Penn's heart.

Jean-Claude Sanon keeps his Eyes on the Prize, the District Five Seat

Jean-Claude Sanon, Haitian-American activist, is making his second run for elective office this November. His first run was in 2009 for a council seat. This time Sanon will run for District Five seat in Boston. The opportunity to run occurred in early 2013 when Rob Consalvo vacated the seat to make a Mayoral run. Sanon's opponent for District Five seat is Tim McCarthy. McCarthy's run for the seat will be his first try at elective office.

Although Jean-Claude Sanon trailed McCarthy in the number of votes he received in the preliminary election, he will get some wind beneath his wings, through the City Council re-districting of District Five. It includes Mattapan, largely Haitian-American, which has been enlarged. Sanon could outpace McCarthy, even though McCarthy's war chest is seven times the size of Sanon's according to figures released in the last half of October.

Newsmaker Interview: Nelson Mandela, 1990

In 1960 when ANC was banned, Mandela proposed a military wing in ANC. In 1961 however, this proposal was considered to be a violent tactic and yet allowed the willing members of ANC to join Neslon Mandela's proposal without any fear. As a result, Umkhonto we Sizwe was formed. Mandela was arrested and sentenced to imprisonment with hard labor for a period of 5 years. In 1963 several Umkhonto we Sizwe and ANC fellow members were arrested and Mandela was once again charged for plotting the overthrow of the ruling party/government by using violence. Andre Michel's supporters broke into courtroom

It could be likened to a scene from a movie; a tense courthouse office, one aggrieved lawyer facing off against what he describes as government corruption. Then, incensed supporters of the lawyer break in past security guards of the association and past immobilized policemen, to whisk their champion away in a black SUV with tinted windows. Here, the drama gives way as no car chase ensues. Instead, the mite of the police is strangled by the law that protects vehicles bearing official license plates from being stopped.

Such was the drama of the Andre Michel story. About to be sent, by the judge at the aforementioned proceedings, to the state penitentiary, Michel's rescuers, including the legislator Arnel Belizaire, came down upon the proceedings and whisked him away. The government has since made its disapprobation with the taking of Michel known, but various factions are questioning the validity of the entire affair.
