Is Sarah Palin using Haiti to gain Black Votes?

My friend, this is just a few questions that I have about the trip of Sarah Palin to Haiti.

The Former Vice President candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has traveled to Haiti with Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. She visited cholera clinics and other relief sites. She urged Americans not to forget Haiti as she returned from her trip. Palin who traveled to Haiti by helicopter stated: " I have really enjoyed meeting this community. They are so full of joy."

U.S. cable network Fox News was the only news media that had access to Sara's tour. All other reporters were kept out.

Sean Penn Out of Dubai Film Festival to go to Haiti

It was reported that the Actor turned humanitarian Sean Penn excused himself from the Dubai Film Festival this week as he was scheduled to receive a lifetime achievement award to fly to Haiti because as he stated "the situation in the crisis-hit country has worsened".

Sean Penn's JP, Haitian Relief Organization, manages a large tent city on what used to be the Petion Ville Country Club. The Actor turned humanitarian.

Penn arrived in Haiti immediately following the 2010 earthquake of January 21 that killed close to 300,000 people. Founded with philanthropist Diana Jenkins, Sean Penn's JP, Haitian Relief Organization started to work drainage around Port-au-Prince. Shortly after that, Sean Penn's organization has become responsible for a tend city on the grounds of a former golf club in Petion Ville.

Sarak Palin arrived in Haiti with Rev. Franklin Graham via Helicopter. The Graham charity organization refused to discuss Sarah Palin's visit agenda, mentioning security reason.

Many people are susceptible of the visit by Palin to Haiti, saying that she is in the process of organizing to run for the 2010 US presidential race.

Sarah Palin will visit Haiti this weekend

Former Alaska Governor and Vice-president candidate Sarah Palin is going to Haiti this weekend. A spokeswoman for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association confirmed that Palin is planning to visit Haiti this weekend, in particular cholera clinics and other relief sites.
Sarah's scheduled visit to Haiti is at a time when things are extremely unstable in the country. There have been daily protest in Haiti from the time the election results were published. Public protests, gunfire and barricades were reported throughout the country. The U.S. Stated Department recommended Americans not to travel to Haiti.

Wyclef Jean Solo Musical Career

Wyclef Jean began his musical career as part of a group, but with his solo career he was able to emerge and make a name for himself as an individual.

Since beginning his solo venture in 1997 he has recorded 8 studio albums and produced music for the likes of Destiny's Child and Santana. To this day he is still making music for people to enjoy.

Wyclef's long solo career began in 1997 with his first album named "Wyclef Jean Presents the Carnival Featuring the Refugee All-Stars" or "The Carnival" for short. With this album he made a name for himself when it was certified Platinum and sold 5 million copies worldwide.

Wyclef Jean and the Fugees

During the mid-190 Wyclef Jean was best known for being a part of the musical group, the Fugees. The group was comprised of Jean, Lauryn Hill, and Jean's cousin as well as fellow Haitian immigrant Prakazrel "Pras" Michel.

During their active years between 1992 and 1997 Wyclef Jean and the Fugees were signed to Ruffhouse Records, a record label started as joint project with Columbia Records.

The group recorded three albums during their active years in the 90's including "Blunted on Reality", "The Score", and "Bootleg Versions". While "Blunted on Reality" and "Bootleg Versions" did well, the most popular was "The Score". This Fugees album reached #1 on the Billboard 200 and U.S. R&B charts, sold over 18 million copies worldwide, and even earned the group two Grammy awards.

George Bush going back to Haiti

The "Haitian Joudalist" just learned that former president George W. Bush will be going to Haiti tomorrow to monitor progress on the recovery effort. He intends to talk to the local people as well as those responsible to help.

As you may remember, president Obama assigned both President Clinton and Bush to head up a fundraising after the Haiti earthquake. This fundraising focuses mainly on long-term objectives for the people of Haiti, including job creation and economic opportunities.

This is the second trip taken by former president Bush since the earthquake. One thing that is worth noting during his first visit was allegation that he wiped his hands on former president Clinton after shaking hands with some of the victims of the earthquake.

Mr. Marc Louis Bazin, AKA Mr. Clean has died

The Haitian "Joudalist" just learned that Mr. Marc Bazin, who is a former world Bank official, , former World Bank fuctionary, and former Haiti Prime Minister passed away on wednesday, June 16, at the age of 78. It is also reported that he passed away after a long fight with Prostate cancer.

Marc Louis Bazin was a former the finance minister under Jean-Claude Duvalier. It is reported that Mr. Bazin attempted to fight corruption under Duvalier, but was unsuccessful.

During the Aristide era, Mr. Bazin was considered the one who could get the country out of its problem. He was considered the favorite candidate for the international community and and acceptable alternative to Aristide by the Haitian elite.

Haiti Jewish community, Is it for real?

One place that has been trying to keep the spirit of a Jewish community in Haiti was Gilbert Bigio's mansion. This Jewish community center is located in Port-au-Prince and it was where Haiti's only Torah scroll was kept, an Israeli flag fluttered from the rooftop and each Passover the country's 50 or so Jews would gather for a Seder, singing or practice their Jewish religion in Haiti.

Like many buildings around port au Prince, the center was destroyed in the Jan. 12 earthquake that leveled much of this city. There are no evidence that any of the members of the Jewish community living in Haiti were known to have been killed in the Haiti earthquake. According to report, since Haiti earthquake, there are only about 15 or so Jews left in Haiti, out of a total population of 9 million. And they spend most of their time in Miami or the neighboring Dominican Republic because conditions at home are so difficult.

Michelle Obama in visit in Haiti

U.S. first lady, Michelle Obama, made an unannounced visit to Haiti. The visit of the U.S. First Lady was meant to underscore to the Haitian people and the Haitian government the enduring U.S. commitment to help Haiti recover and rebuild, especially as we enter the rainy and hurricane seasons.

Shortly after arriving, Michelle Obama took a helicopter tour of Port-au-Prince, where buildings are in ruins and many earthquake survivors live in sprawling tent cities.

Accompanied by Jill Biden, the wife of Vice President Joe Biden, Mrs. Obama entered a play area set aside to provide therapy to children now living in a giant squatter camp in Port au Prince.
